Folly Beach & Dolly Parton
Folly Beach is such a funky spot with shimmering white beaches and eclectic watering holes, like Chico Feo. We totally stumbled on this colorful outdoorsy bar/restaurant, which was bustling with locals chowing down on tacos and sipping local brews. If you pop into Folly Beach, be sure to check out the "Folly Boat," which washed up during Hurricane Hugo and has become a changing public art piece where locals and visitors can indulge their creativity by repainting it. Since the boat was painting for some's 50th birthday, we decided not to mess with it just in case it was some kind of surprise.
Home & Holy City Brewery
I totally forgot to mention that our bed and breakfast ended up having fleas. FLEAS. In one night, I think I went through all seven stages of grief due to these pests. By luck or total un-luck, our very apologetic B&B placed us in the guest house of this gorgeous estate house across from the medschool, which is usually only for visiting doctors (we sho is rich now!). After I dolled up, we headed to Holy City Brewery for a beer and dinner before we saw the lady of the hour. I loved this brewery. First of all, their oyster stout was bomb like so very good and perfect for the chilly weather. Second, they had the coolest live band playing. Did I mention how cute their outside area is and how I totally failed and getting decent pictures?
The Main Attraction
Dolly is sweet, down to earth, charming but most of all an incredible entertainer. She has an absolutely amazing voice live and played about five different instruments that night. With the exception of a little bathroom line drama, this was an absolutely perfect night!
Elliot Borough Mini Bar
After Dolly, we headed over for little nightcap in this magical little mini bar. Though the photos are oh-so grainy, this little bar is such a gem! Tucked away off King Street, Elliot Borough Mini Bar has live music every night and a great craft beer selection! The perfect spot to unwind after seeing your pre-teen idol.
